In addition to individualized therapeutic intervention, it\u2019s important to bolster treatment with greater understanding of compulsive behavior. Reaching out for support (in-person or online) between sessions has been proven to\n improve treatment outcomes and resilience at such time treatment concludes.\n

Compulsive behaviors (or addictions) act on our brain in a very similar manner as compared to illegal narcotics. Brain imaging demonstrates our brains light up in similar patterns as we consume pornography, place our next bet,\n sit down to play our favorite videogame, or purchase our next new, shiny object. Without treatment, our daily lives are negatively impacted across a spectrum of areas ultimately leaving us feeling isolated, scared, trapped,\n depressed, and anxious. Below are a variety of resources to supplement our work together.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
